Housing Mobility Programs

The housing mobility field has come a long way since the 1990s, and over the last several years, it has seen a significant increase in support. We are inspired, both by new government investment at the local, state, and federal levels, and by the steadfast commitment to housing mobility demonstrated by a growing number of nonprofits and funding institutions. The geographical diversity and range of location-specific approaches that we now see are worth examining and can be instructive to anyone interested in advancing housing mobility in their own community. A birds-eye view of the field can also be helpful to researchers, funders, and policymakers.

With this in mind, Mobility Works and PRRAC publish an overview every two years of the housing mobility programs throughout the United States. We would not be able to create this invaluable resource without help from housing mobility researchers, program staff, and HUD staff. The most recent report, from December 2022, is available below.
